How to Mimic Users on a Web Page

Keywords: browser

Question:

I'm testing the server, but from the browser perspective. Does that make any sense? They want someone once a day to go into a browser and act like the general public and make a request for information from the server to make sure it's working. Obviously, lazy as I am (laziness makes for the best Winbatch scripters), I'm hoping to script the thing and just let it run once a day.

Answer:

Use either the WinSock or WinInet extender to download a web page and see if it looks OK. No Internet Browser required.
