Webboard with the Opera Browser

Question:

I prefer Opera as my browser for most purposes (it's at least twice as fast) and have cookies enabled but when I try to use your BBS I keep getting the login page. Is this a problem from your side or am I running into a problem with Opera?

Answer:

I'm not completely sure. The BBS works with Netscape and with MSIE and is workable with newer version of lynx. It is based on software from O'Rielly and Associates (www.ora.com). In general it works pretty well, although there are sporadic problems from time to time.

We just confirmed the problem with Opera 2.12 and 3.0 It seems to support cookies, but not WebBoard cookies for some unknown reason.

I suggest using a different browser till O'Reilly or Opera gets the problem resolved (this posting dated 4-16-98.)
