Installing both 16- and 32-bit WinBatch
Keywords: WinBatch installation
Question:
Can I legally install the 16-bit version of WinBatch if I currently hold a registered copy of the 32-bit WinBatch? Is it technically possible to install the 16-bit version on NT 4.0? I don't want it stepping on my current 32-bit copy.
Does the compiler for the 32-bit version compile script written using the 16-bit version?
Answer:
- Yes, you can use both the 16 and 32 bit versions of both WinBatch and the compiler. You should have both. Or download the latest copies and install them.
- You need the 16 bit compiler to compile a script for the 16 bit system.
- To prevent the versions stepping on each other ...
- Either install off the source floppies, checking both the 16 and 32 bit checkboxes during the install.
- or install the 16 bit zip file, THEN the 32 bit zip file to the same directory.
