Question:

I'm having problems getting Winbatch+Compiler permanently licensed on our machines, and I figured out it was caused by our Trend Antivirus software, which appears to be keeping track of registry changes. If Trend thinks a reg change is unauthorized or suspicious, it changes the registry back to previous settings... or something like that. Due to this strange behavior, the WB licensing info in the registry is not getting saved, and we have to relicense WB upon each reboot.

We thought that by not having Trend installed when we installed WB, then licensing WB, and THEN installing Trend, that that might solve the problem, but Trend somehow still unlicenses WB.

Answer:

I'm pretty sure Trend must have some kind of setting where you can tell it that a particular registry entry is OK and NOT to delete it.
