Question:
After setup is initialized I get the following message:3067: Function Syntax. Opening parenthesis missing. a=AskYesNo(Version is outdated. Newer versions may be available. Do you wish to continue the install?) WinBatch 32 97B WIL Version: 2.4bbpAfter responding to this message the install is killed.Answer:
Kind of an older version.
In some older versions of Winbatch, mainly 97D or older, there was a bug in the setup program. The installation checks to see if the date is some time AFTER February 14, 1999. If it is, we attempt to display a dialog to the user letting them know the version is outdated. This is where the setup routine has problems. You will get an error.
Work Around
Set your system clock back a year and run the setup. DONT forget to fix your clock after the install.
MORE
It has come to our attention that the OLDER 97D/E versions of WinBatch and WinBatch+Compiler have a bug in the setup program wherein the setup program had a runtime error when installed after Feb 14, 1999We have posted updated copies of these programs on our website.
Please note: In addition, newer (But not free) updates are available. The 97D/E and older versions are quite outdated. Also, the 97D/E versions are not compliant with Windows 98/ME or Windows 2000.
