Question:

I have installed WinBatch on my WinNT 3.51 workstation. It has been running fine for 2 months, and now when I click on the source button on the compiler I get the following error..."1337: AskFileName: Dialog Box creation error". I have re-install WinBatch, but I still get the error. Any suggestions.?

Answer:

The problem was that a bug was introduced in the WinBatch 99M version that made the AskFileName function incompatible with Windows NT 3.51

This problem has been fixed in the downloadable 99N version of the WinBatch+Compiler.

If that still doesn't work, try the following. Something has changed on your system since your last compile.

Go into your windows dirctory, find the WWW-PROD.INI file, edit it and delete the COMPILER16 and COMPILER32 sections.

I suspect some value in there got set to a strange value - perhaps a network drive that you no longer have rights to or a directory that no longer exists.
