It appears that you are only notified once when running a script as to how many messages are waiting. If I kill the script (CTRL-Break) and run it again immediately then I am given the total number of messages.

I believe the issue is because once you log into a pop3 email account the account is like frozen in time, meaning that you will not see any updates until you log out and log back in.

The only way to log out is to exit the Winbatch script.
