Installing WebBatch with MSII

One common problem when first trying to use WebBatch with MSII is that the Browser wants to download the webbatch.exe file.

Here is an easy fix:

On the MSII Properties tab for the Web Server where you define the virtual "webcgi" directory, you will notice two checkboxes at the bottom of the screen.

They should have been radio buttons. You cannot have both "Read" and "Execute" checked. Simply make sure that "READ" is NOT checked and that "EXECUTE" is.

That should solve the problem.

Another possiblity is that the WebBatch.exe is really an error message in a misnamed file. Download the file, Rename it to error.txt and look at it.
