Modify Outlook Profile

Keywords: Modify Outlook Profile

Question:

Is there a way to manipulate the Microsoft Outlook profile using WinBatch? IS there a registry hack or do you use the SendKeysTo function?

We are getting ready to move our exchange server to a new machine and need to be able to point the users outlook to the new server.

Thanks in advance.

Answer (User reply on web board):

It depends on the OS that you're using. In Win9x, look under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Messaging
Subsystem\Profiles

In NT4.0, look under

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles.

In there you'll find one key for each profile. Each profile will have a subkey "001e6602" - it is there that, the server is set up. Just change that entry and the client will point to the new server. In my particular setup, I also have my exchange server listed within another subkey - "001e6612", but that's part of my email address.

Also, if you're going to be migrating from one server to another, there is an exchange setting to automatically point the client to a different server. I'm not sure exactly how this is done,
