pComOpen Error 100
Question:
I keep getting the Error 100: InitalizePort failed when attempting to execute pComOpen and specifying COM3.Answer:
Try using pGetlastError() to see if we can get any extended error information back. Also confirm that you can communicate with the modem. In the control Panels under Modems select your modem, view it properties then attempt to query the modem. ALso check if you see that port listed under ports in the Device manager.User Reply:
The error returned from pGetlastError was 7 - Invalid port.It appears that the COM port was being rendered unusable by the Windows Firewall. When I turned off the Windows Firewall, the serial extender program did not report any error and a valid response came back from the modem.
