Run Terminal Extender on Non Terminal Service Machine
Question:
I am looking to write a script that runs on a w2k machine to interogate 2 terminal servers, to find which has less sessions running so that i can logon to that one rather than the busy one.
It seems that to use the terminal services extender you must be on a terminal service enabled machine , none of my w2k machines are. Is there a way round this
Answer:
Take a closer look at the WTS extender help file. There's a help topic you can click on from the main topic that tells you
about how to use the extender on non-TS systems. Basically, there's a set of DLLs [dependent on the version of Windows] that needs
to be copied to the system on which your script is executing in order for the WTS*() API functions to be functional for purposes
of interrogating & manipulating remote TS-enabled systems.
