The 2GB limit is going to have me pulling my hair out soon as a large pile of work is coming my way and the tools I have -- I wrote them in WinBatch -- will start choking as I know the ZIP files will be growing (some in the 4-15GB range).
As drives shrink, a 2GB limit seems ancient. Is there anything that can be done to relieve this?
Like the PKZIP to it will compress without error. However, the unzip produces the following error:
9 End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not a zipfile or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on the last disk(s) of this archive. UnZip DLL: cannot find zipfile directory in d:\ziptest\bigone.zip, and cannot find d:\bigone.zip.zip, period. This is due to the file length being held in a four byte integer field that limits the size of the file to ~2GB (signed integer) or ~4 GB (unsigned integer).
Recommended: update your WinBatch and Zipper Extender Version 44011 or newer .
