Using 16-bit Compiler for Windows 95

Keywords: 16/32 bit compiler

A *lot* of WinBatch files compiled with the 16 bit compiler will run flawlessly under Windows 95 or NT. But not all. Some scripts will need to be compiled with the 32 bit compiler to run properly. Mostly the 16 bit scripts that have problems are the ones trying to do stuff that simply was not possible in the 16 bit environment stuff, like:
  1. Sending keystrokes to 32 bit applications.
  2. Using long file names.
  3. Scripts that need to multitask well.
  4. Scripts tring to use 32 bit networking facilities.
