Compiler Hangs

Question:
My installation of WinBatch recently started to hang up at the blue screen where it says, Initializing... The process cannot be terminated with Windows Task Mgr (WinXP). I have tried older scripts where I did not have this problem and it hangs with them, too. I was one version behind so I installed the latest version thinking that would correct the problem. No luck.Any idea how to fix this?
Answer:
First thing to do is check for any bad '.ext' files (files with the .ext extension are part of each extender's setup) in your WinBatch 'system' directory. It may be simpler to re-install all of your currently installed extenders to either fix the problem outright or at least eliminate extenders as the cause.Article ID: W17690
