How to Compress WIL Dll
In older version of WinBatch the WIL DLL was compressed using a commercial DLL compression tool. It worked fine. However it seems that the DLL uncompressors of this general sort use a technique that be may be disallowed in future versions of Windows.
We decided that it would be best to no longer compress our DLLs now, so that EXE's compiled now will run with future versions of Windows.
However, if you wish, you can compress the DLL yourself up until such time in the future that it begins to become a problem for you.
We have found that the free UPX compressor does a wonderful job on the main WIL DLL file - any you may wish to try it on the exe's also - however we have found some antivirus program sometimes spend a lot of time (30 seconds) checking the exe files.
