Close on Exit Checkbox in Shortcut

Keywords: Close on Exit Checkbox in Shortcut

Question:

I've got a situation where I need to run a DOS cc:Remote utility (Import or Export) or the actual Remote.exe.

I've tried to run it with various run commands (run, runwait, etc.) and close the DOS window "Finished - appname" with no success. I've also tried to create a common shortcut, which has "Close on Exit" set, that I can just pass the arguments. The problem is that every time I do a ShortcutEdit, it unchecks the "Close on Exit" and leaves me right back where I started, with an open window named "Finished - appname" just hanging around.

Has anyone else found this (and is there a solution)?

Any help would be appreciated.

Answer:

Try making a shortcut to it manually then capture the resulting PIF file - and ship it with your product. You can RUN the PIF file and even give it a strange name.

You won't see the PIF extension until you drop to DOS.
