Question:
Does Winbatch have any OCR extenders?What about anyone that has passed command lines to an OCR software, and get a return text variable?
Looking to open TIF, read top right invoice number (not hand-written), and rename or save using invoice # as file_name.tif
Any ideas?
Answer:
Sorry no WIL OCR extenders. However there is a product called TextTract that might be helpful. The Textract SDK can feed a new program with text data from an existing application even if this application does not support any communication API, like clipboard copy-paste or OCX/automation. Textract uses OCR technology to capture text from specified windows locations directly from the screen ...It includes an OCX control that you could theortically communciate with using WinBatch OLE functions.
