Office 2007 and WinTitle

Question:

I'm using WinTitle to rename window titles and have come across a problem with Office 2007 windows.

Office 2007 apps seem to have some kind of overlay over the title area (so they can display the orb and quick acces toolbar), however, this means that if you set the title by the WinTitle command then it becomes strangely corrupted and eventually disappears depending on when and how Office 2007 repaints itself.

Have others seen this issue and found ways around it?

I'm using Winbatch 2005G.

Answer:

We have not come across this issue before. Basically, WinBatch is asking the Office 2007 application to change its window title using the Windows API SetWindowText. For some reason Office 2007 is then having a hard time 'repainting' its own window. unfortunately WinBatch does not have a lot of control over how and when an application decides to update or display its own windows.

You could try doing a WinActivate on the window to see if that has any affect.
