Remote Printer Install

Question:

We're installing new printers on multiple Win2k print servers for >20 clients to attach to. I looked at pAddPrtConn but it appears that it must be run from the local workstation in order to install the printer. I'm looking to perform this remotely. Basically, enumerate the pserver, printer name / share and input the client name and have it target all the profiles on the wkstn for printer install. I have a rough idea how to gather the info but is it possible to target a wkstn to install a printer remotely? Too much to ask?

Answer:

Faking out printer installations is one of the more difficult and most unreliable things you can do in Windows. Writing a compiled script that uses the Printer extender and having the script actually run on each workstation within each user's profile is a reasonable way to go. This can be very easily accomplished via the login script.
