Emergency Repair Disk Companion NT 4
Emergency Repair Disk Companion for NT 4 Not too long ago a WinBatch script of mine was pretty successfully sold as shareware. The name was (and still is) 'ERDC' which stands for 'Emergency Repair Disk Companion', a program to build and maintain emergency diskettes under Windows NT 4.
Today, Windows NT has 'passed away' in most facilities. But have no time to update it for W2K or XP. So I have decided to abandon that project i.e. not sell it any longer nor doing anything else with it any more.
But rather than letting it 'catch dust' I would like to donate the entire source code to the public domain.
The winbatch source code is about 90 KB, while the entire (binary) distribution is about 1.0 MB.
Source code (three .WBT files)
RDISKC.WBT is the actual program. While I have received 'a little help from my friends' in the UK for the English user interface, this does not apply to the source code comments. I hope you find your way thru my non-native cowderwelsh.
RDISKAPI.WBT implements the 'secret' hash algorithm that generates a 6-digit registration id for any given user name. I am willing to publish this file too because I never use the same algorithm twice.
REGSHOW.WBT is a standalone front-end into RDISKAPI. It's just a tool I used to quickly generate a registration id for a new registree.
However I really don't think you will get a picture of ERDC without actually using it. A look at the help file might be helpful, too.
