Signing and Certificates

Question:
I have a question concerning certificate signing. We have our own certificate authority that I am using to create a certificate for my Winbatch scripts. When I install the certificate into my personal store, Winbatch will compile without errors. If I delete the certificate and reimport to the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store and try to compile, I receive a certificate not found error. Is Winbatch only capable to using certificates in the personal store or can I tell Winbatch where to look for the certificate?Answer:
You need to use the personal store if you are going use the WinBatch compiler or IntControl 93 to sign scripts. Of course you can sign a compiled WinBatch script using other methods like MSFT's signtool or just keep the certificate in both places.Article ID: W18322
