UAC Administrator Account

Keywords: UAC User Account Control Administrator Account Admin

UAC [User Account Control] is enabled by default on Vista, Win7 and Win8, which has the effect of limiting the logon of any & all accounts w/administrative privileges such that they work as if they were normal users. You have to explicitly choose to elevate a program to admin level when you run it before it will have the full admin privileges that you expect it to have.

Like it or not, UAC is here to stay and isn't going away. Simply disabling it really isn't the best work around, either. I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft makes UAC become mandatory in future versions of Windows, too.

We recommend you take the time to learn about UAC, what it is, how it works and what it's impact is on administrative tasks. There are plenty of articles in the tech support db discussing UAC and how it impacts WinBatch. Search for those articles [keyword "UAC"] and read them all. Then go to Microsoft's web site and find the white paper on UAC in Vista and take the time to read it and understand it.

Here's the search URL from Microsoft's TechNet site. There are several good articles, blog postings, white papers, etc... discussing UAC, and it would be helpful for you to read them:
