Problem Editing a Macro in WinMacro

Question:

Hi I am not a programmer and feel a bit out of my depth. Sorry if my question is dumb. I loaded the evaluation copy of WinBatch (ver 2004G) and recorded a Winbatch macro to manipulate Outlook.

I wanted to clean up the macro but if I use ";" or even delete lines they are still executed when I next run the macro. I tried Save As, and it brings back all the deleted stuff!

Could anyone help, or point me to the right place in any of the downloaded manuals?

Answer:

This one trips a lot of people up. WinMacro cannot run scripts. So once you convert a macro to a script it is out of the picture (although it will still run the original unconverted macro.)

Also, when you have WinMacro add a macro to a PopMenu menu, PopMenu calls on WinMacro to run the macro. So the script version is not used there either.

WinMacro's role is to record and playback macros. The ability to convert macros to scripts is provided as a tool for those wishing to incorporate some part of a macro into a larger script.
