Turn off WinBatch Tips
Question:
I think the possibility of having the WinBatch tips is a good thing. However I find that if I am in need of working on a
script and there is a bit of a hurry to get to it, the extra step of exiting the tips screen becomes an annoyance very quickly.
Most programs that provide a "Tips" screen allow the user to "opt in" or "opt out" but there seems to be no option available.
So for now I am forced to add the extra step of exiting the Tips screen every time I want to use the program. It is a little thing
I know, but I am sure I am not the only one who feels just a bit frustrated about the fact that I can not turn it off. If there
is a way to do it I would really appreciate your help.
Answer:
WinBatch studio currently allows to to specify how often the tips appear. The next time the tips window appears,
select the options button to minimize how often it displays. However there is not option to completely disable it,
because we feel the tips are important way to learn new aspects of the WinBatch software.
However if you must absolutely disable the tips dialog. You can delete the wshints.exe file (or rename it) then the hints go away.
