Get Value of RadioButton in Dialog Callback Procedure

 Keywords: Get Value RadioButton Dialog Callback Procedure

Question:

Any chance you can retrieve the "Value" of the selected button in a Dialog Callack Procedure? THe DialogControlGet function doesn't seem to support a request to just get the VALUE parameter of the RadioButton Control.

Answer:

Have you considered just 'naming' your RadioButton with the integer value?

Instead of using:

MyDialog003=`071,031,044,012,RADIOBUTTON,"RadioButton_1",rbVariable,"Radio 1",1,30,DEFAULT,DEFAULT,DEFAULT,DEFAULT`
MyDialog004=`071,049,044,012,RADIOBUTTON,"RadioButton_2",rbVariable,"Radio 2",2,40,DEFAULT,DEFAULT,DEFAULT,DEFAULT`
MyDialog005=`071,067,044,012,RADIOBUTTON,"RadioButton_3",rbVariable,"Radio 3",3,50,DEFAULT,DEFAULT,DEFAULT,DEFAULT`
Then use:
MyDialog003=`071,031,044,012,RADIOBUTTON,"1",rbVariable,"Radio 1",1,30,DEFAULT,DEFAULT,DEFAULT,DEFAULT`
MyDialog004=`071,049,044,012,RADIOBUTTON,"2",rbVariable,"Radio 2",2,40,DEFAULT,DEFAULT,DEFAULT,DEFAULT`
MyDialog005=`071,067,044,012,RADIOBUTTON,"3",rbVariable,"Radio 3",3,50,DEFAULT,DEFAULT,DEFAULT,DEFAULT`
Then your Radiobutton callback procedure would look something like this:
     Case MSG_RADIOPUSHED
        If MyDialog_Name == "1"                ; rbVariable Radio 1
              Pause( "User Selected ",MyDialog_Name )
              Return(RET_DO_NOT_EXIT)

        ElseIf MyDialog_Name == "2"            ; rbVariable Radio 2
              Pause( "User Selected ",MyDialog_Name )
              Return(RET_DO_NOT_EXIT)

        ElseIf MyDialog_Name == "3"            ; rbVariable Radio 3
              Pause( "User Selected ",MyDialog_Name )
              Return(RET_DO_NOT_EXIT)

        EndIf                                              ; MyDialog_Name
        Return(RET_DO_DEFAULT)
OR even:
     case MSG_RADIOPUSHED
        value = Int( MyDialog_Name )
        Switch value
            Case 1            ; rbVariable Radio 1
              Pause( "User Selected ",value )
              return(RET_DO_NOT_EXIT)

            Case 2            ; rbVariable Radio 2
              Pause( "User Selected ",value )
              return(RET_DO_NOT_EXIT)

            Case 3            ; rbVariable Radio 3
              Pause( "User Selected ",value )
              return(RET_DO_NOT_EXIT)
        EndSwitch                                              ; MyDialog_Name
        return(RET_DO_DEFAULT)
