How to Get the Current NDS User Context

Keywords:    n4ObjectProps

Question:

We are rebuilding our NDS tree and want to change the "Default Context" stored on each machine to the "User Context" that the user's login name is created under in NDS. We do not want to use the "Aliased User Context" that points to the true "User Context" stored in NDS.

Novell stores the "Default Context" in the registry at:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Network\Novell\System Config\NetWare DOS Requester\NameContext]
"0"="my.default.context"
But how can I find out what the true "User Context" is?

The "WIL NetWare Extender" help file refers to the using a null string ("") for the "default context". But I have not found a way to report on what that "default context" is. And indeed am not sure that it is what I am looking for.

Any suggestions on how I can find the "User Context" that the user's login name (not alias) is created under in NDS?

Answer:

n4ObjectProps ought to do it. I would run the example and see if any of the values display look correct.
