Assigning Certificates to Winbatch EXEs

Keywords: certificates authentication Tall

Question:

I'm using Tall software to assign program certificates to run over the internet so they're authenticated.

Background:

To ensure security for EXEs, your browser opens a file to see if the program is signed by a known trustable source. Several organizations sell programs which provide certificates, and Tall is one of these programs.

These programs run against the source code and modify the EXE.

The problem is, when I run this certifier program against a WB compiled EXE, after modification is done, the WB EXE no longer is useable (ie corrupted).

If I do the same thing against a MS C compiled program, no problem.

I'm using WBC 97D.

Any way around this?

Answer:

The 97D version is not intelligent enough to understand that some other program modified the exe file. I believe the current version can figure this out and run successfully.
