Digital Signature

Question:

The problem I’m now having is that every time a user needs to execute the winbatch file, they get a windows security warning and need to physically click on “run” to execute the file. I need these files to run automatically as they execute pop-up errors and instructions to assist the user. I have been told that I need to digitally sign the files so that I can bypass the warning but for the life of me I have no idea where to start looking.

I would like to digitally sign compiled winbatch scripts. Can anyone point me to a resource on how to do this? I have already been assigned a certificate from our security group.

Answer:

It is the responsibility of the EXEs developer (that is you) to digitally sign their own exes.
