If you have a previously installed version of WinBatch, and you have your StartMenu directory located on a network drive:
You will get this error if your StartMenu directory attributes were initially set to READ/WRITE when you installed WinBatch the first time, but now have your StartMenu directory set to READ ONLY on the network drive.
To successfully get WinBatch installed, you need to change the directory attributes for the network StartMenu directory to READ/WRITE before the WinBatch installation, and then back to READ ONLY after installation is complete.
If this doesn't fix the problem, there might be something about your StartMenu Shortcuts that is causing WinBatch to be confused. Basically, the situation is that, during installation, WinBatch is trying to create a StartMenu item, but can't get access to the StartMenu to update it. You can try deleting WinBatch from the StartMenu directory, and run Setup.EXE again.
There is something really strange about icon handling on your specific setup. Apparently, we can create but not replace icons on your system for some reason. It might have to do with your Windows "policies", something to do with changing existing icons that are already on your system. Look into your Policy editor on your system for an unusual configuration.
This is an unusual bug that will hopefully be fixed in versions after WinBatch 96M.
