Netware Utilities
Keywords:
Since my company decided to switch to Active Directory, I abandoned all the NetWare utilities I was developing,
but still use some of my early ones regularly. I've attached a bunch of them below--hopefully they'll be of help
to someone after our AD migration is complete. All these utilities have worked well for me, but I give no guarantees
on them. There is also several egregious examples of bad coding habits lurking inside. All of them, I think, have
ErrorMode (@OFF) in them (I know, Marty, it turns a 5 minute debug into a week-long project--and you're right), a
lthough I think only nwObjInfo actually needs it. It seems that no matter how much I simplify life for myself
and my coworkers with WinBatch scripts, it does not exempt me from a barrage of snide remarks whenever an error
occurs. So in a fit of ire after one of these remarks, I added ErrorMode (@OFF) to several working scripts just
to get them off my back. nwObjInfo is not complete, but works okay... The last time I worked on it I was not very
good at error trapping, and there is a heck of a lot of it necessary in nwObjInfo, so I just turned ErrorMode off
unless I was trying to add new code to it. The scripts are attached below, for what they are worth.
