NetwareX 1437 AddExtender dll load failed

Question:

I am receiving some errors when attempting to load the NetwareX extender:
“Unable to locate exported function #3078 in netwin32.dll”
I then press ok, and receive:
“Wil Extender load error 998”
Press ok again, and receive:
“Error: 1437 : AddExtender dll load failed.”
The Novell Netware client installed is version 4.60 sp 2.

Any ideas?

Answer:

The Novell Client is out of date. If I remember correctly , on the NT platform family Novell Client [for NT] v4.7x is the oldest version that is supported. Specifically, it is the function NWDSAuthenticateConnEx() that is missing from NETWIN32.DLL. This function is used by the NetWareX extender to perform, as you may have guessed, authentication of server connections. This is not one of the optional API functions that the extender can get by w/o while still running in some limited capacity, so the extender will fail to load if this API function is not present in the Novell Client software that is installed on the workstation.

The solution to the problem is to upgrade the Novell Client software.
