Inherit NTFS Persmissions
Question:
What is the function/syntax to simulate the action in windows where when you go to the Advanced button and uncheck "Inherit from parent the permission entries that apply to child objects" prompting for Copy, Remove, Cancel. I want to do the Copy. I think I would use the wntAccessMod function, but not sure.Answer:
Yes, it sounds like the wntAccessMod function. See the SetMinimumPerms_P6C UDF in the attached include file, SetMinimumPerms_P6C.WIL, which, I believe, does exactly what you want, albeit with probably a good deal of debug logging that you might do without.
