WntAddDrive launches an Explorer window
Keywords: WntAddDrive launches an Explorer window
Question
NT4 never had this problem, but now that I am running w2k, all my scripts that add drives will open
them in a new window. I have several scripts that access many machines on the network one after the
other using a single drive letter. Every time the X-drive is set to a new machine there is a new window,
causing a distinct distraction if you are forced to look naywhere near the screen.
Microsoft provides the information that to suppress this in Windows Explorer, simply hold the Shift
Key down as you click the Finish Button in the Tools>Map Network Drive screen.
How can one accomplish a similar action when using wntAddDrive?
Reply
You are saying that as opposed to NT 4.0, when you issue a wntAddDrive in a script under Win2K it opens
a new Explorer window ??? !!! ???Hmmm. Does not happen on my computer. Maybe there is an option setting
someplace for the in Explorer.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem

Resolved
This solution appears to solve the problem (after a reboot) - so it would seem that
a modification to wntAddDrive is not necessary.
